Being caught in the moment, I decided to write about some great media outlets that support independent musicians. I just can not dare go any further without mentioning a company ran by a woman, who has become one of my good friends and inspires me to keep the faith in finding my voice. Janet Hansen of Scout66.com offers a genuine service that is priceless. She is a music marketing specialist with three Grammy winning campaigns to her credit. Janet has also contributed to two of history’s most popular songs. This is a professional that you definitely want in your corner.
As for Janet’s latest endeavor to assist musicians, Scout66.com is a live music review site for every level of performing musicians anywhere in the world. It’s an excellent PR tool for fans and venues to find new talent.
Being the developer of the philosophies behind this site and her blog, Scout66com.wordpress.com, Janet has a no-nonsense approach to the value of paying your dues in the music industry. I am a big fan of the “Tell it like it is” and “Start with the basics, then advance” techniques of teaching. Above all, this lady has the experience, the wisdom, and the connections to take an artist who is willing to dump the “I know everything” attitude and let her guide them to a successful career.
My personal favorite characteristic of Janet, after her warm compelling charm of course, is her devotion to encouraging the voice of the fans that support these artists.
